Located in Clemenceau, Ras Beirut (Lebanon), a 350 square metre mid-century residential home was transformed
into a whiskey bar and venue for jazz.
Salon Beyrouth, a jazz club in the heart of Clemenceau, Beirut, Lebanon was initially a residential ground floor in a mid-century townhouse.
The main challenge of that specific space was incrementing a venue that would blend in its 1940s environment, bearing in mind specific F&B standards, functionality and circulation, comfortable acoustics, and versatile and adaptable lighting within the walls of an old traditional residential architecture.
Mainly turning the space into a pleasant fine dining restaurant that can entertain live jazz bands whilst serving an upper scale dining experience.
With bespoke furniture and tailor-made lighting and fixtures, the feasibility study of the project had a projection of a three years return on investment. The success of its design and functional implementations were the main key elements that made it possible. Antoine Maalouf Architects designed and executed a turnkey project in Salon Beyrouth with no variation order to speak of and an execution timeline of ten weeks that was fully respected.
Salon Beyrouth not only managed to return its investment within the next three years as projected, but went on to become one of the most renowned venues of the Beirut food and beverage scene since 2015, overcoming several crisis and civil unrest.
